Great XC Skiing Happening Now!
Experience: Members should be able to get some glide, be able to handle gentle hills up and down, and to stop. If you have had a lesson in the last year or so, or have skied previously and are simply really rusty, you probably have enough skill to join . Please talk with me if you are unsure :) To be fair to the group, these sessions are not lessons, but are opportunities to ski with others, explore new trails, and practice your skills. If you want more help than the tips I share while group skiing, I encourage you to take a private lesson, or, join with other members for a group lesson. OHO members get a discount!

I’ve been an avid XC skier since I was a kid, skiing right out the back door along the woods and rivers of Lake Superior’s north shore. I started old-school, with traditional style skis requiring waxing according to the conditions. I caught the skate-skiing bug in the early 90’s just as it was starting to take off.
I enjoy both styles of XC; I choose the style of the day based on weather and snow conditions. Having a goal really keeps me “on track” with getting out there regularly. I typically choose one or two citizen races to participate in. My goals in racing are to keep fit, improve my form, meet good people, and have fun!
